FAQ (Draft)

  • Somehow I have ended up with all of my Feed Folders appearing twice in the Feeds window, both sets appear to be identical. Is there an easy way of getting back to them being only listed once ?

Please run "DbRepair.exe -fix" located in the same folder as OmeaPro.exe or OmeaReader.exe

  • How can I stop the error message appearing each time I launch Omea - "Illegal Resource Id=xxx"?

  • How can I stop the error message from Microsoft Outlook appearing each time I launch Omea - "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.

Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"?This means that you run OmeaPro and your Microsoft Outlook environment has not been set yet. If you want to work with Outlook, you need to properly setup it. Otherwise, if you want to work with some other mail client you need just to turn off the Omea Outlook plugin. This can be done in Omea options pane: Tools | Options | Omea | Plugins.

  • How can I make Omea running under .Net 2.0

Open the file <Omea install dir>\OmeaPro.exe.config, and add the following section inside <configuration>:
<startup>
<requiredRuntime version="v2.0.50727" />
</startup>

That would force Omea to load with the .NET 2.0 runtime.

  • I get the following error on number of feeds I subscribe to: "An Error occured when parsing cookie header for Uri"

One solution is to delete cookies inside IE. This fixes the issue for a little while, but ususally the next day you have to do it again.
A better solution to this it to set the option "Tools | Options | Internet | Feeds | "Use cookies from" " to "None".

  • OMEA PRO does not work with ICQ databse

ICQ (starting from 2005) locks its database completely while it is active, and we have no possibility neither to read it, nor react on new conversations.
