----

We at JetBrains believe that making tools for developers should greatly involve listening to developers. The EAP lets the community try pre-release versions of 0xDBE and influence development planning, from early stages onwards.

Icon

It is important to distinguish EAP from traditional pre-release software. Please note that the quality of EAP versions may at times be way below even usual beta standards.

Getting started

Be sure to check the documentation to learn how to quickly get started with 0xDBE.

Feedback

0xDBE is still under development and we really appreciate your feedback. Please submit bug reports and feature requests directly to the issue tracker. In case you have a question, don't hesitate to ask it on our forum.

    0xdbe-139.795.5.dmg

    Mac installer doesn't open in Yosemite v 10.10.1 (14B25)

the disk image cannot be opened and the reason shows as "image not recognised".

Any workaround or solution to get this installed would be helpful.

    1. It should work. Can it be a problem of downloading? For the me the dmg size is 69842167 bytes. Is it the same for you?

Today is 10th of March, 27th coming soon. Will update come before this date, or, when i can buy it? =)

I need this tool, really, for Postgres, it's like a drug =)

    1. A fresh EAP build is to be released within a week, stay tuned (smile)

Build 141.191 is incorrectly labeled as being released on March 18th, 2014.

Last build is from March 2014? Is this product discontinued before being released?

Please add support for visual explain, and visual explain analyze. It would be wonderful, if one can quickly figure out the cost distribution in the execution of a query.

Thank you for your amazing tool.

    Here has some defects:

1 For postgresql, it can't open its functions.  And it can't show partition table in hierarchical structure.  It will show all database object in the same level and can't hide some objects by demand.

2 For sql format, it misses key words "DISTRIBUTED"(it might be for Greenplum) and its format result is not fit for reading for some nest sql

3 It would be wonderful to add a function that select one table name can show its sample data right way.

4 Project organization is not fit for many functions develop in a database.

5 It can't show result count in status bar

I'm setting up a new Oracle datasource in 142.2675.6 and under schemas and Tables I get nothing found.  All my entries from my previous build have gone (I don't care about that) but the fact when I set up a new one and nothing is found is very odd - If I use a different tool obviously they are there.

    1. Anonymous

Check in the "Schema & Tables" of the properties of your datasource. I had the case where all the schemas were unselected by default. That might be your problem...

      1. Anonymous

Thanks but my problem that it said no schemas were found on that tab, even though it was connected.  I reinstalled it and it worked that time.  Odd.

  9. Anonymous

Downloaded new version, because 0xDBE would refuse to start because my current version expired ... now i've donwloaded and extracted the new version but still get the same result :(

    1. Anonymous

Its fixed ... but its still strange. i was not able to run it from the same folder as the old version ... i still dont understand why, to be honest.

  10. Anonymous

Here are some ideas for newer versions:

    • Rails migration preview when adding adding removing or updating a table, column, index, etc.
    • Better diagram generation (it generates huge rectangles for each table) / Ability to resize the rectangles
    • Pan tool for diagrams

    Good Day,

Just wanted to notice that tsql support is completely broken... (interface com.intellij.sql.dialects.tsql.TsqlReservedKeywords token map not initialize)

Well done guys. Thank you for the tool.

It can't open Greenplum (Postgresql 8.x)'s routine (function).  but it works on normal Postgresql 9.4.  I try several types jdbc driver.  Same issue.

Please do not delete my comment and answer my question. How do I install this on ubuntu? I am fairly new to the OS and do not know how to install a program without apt-get or a .deb file which I did not find in the download for linux.

    1. Anonymous

      Download the 0xdbe-142.2927.6.tar.gz file.
Open the file you just downloaded by double-clicking on the file.
The Archive Manager should open, displaying a folder titled 0xDBE-142-2927.6 (The version might be different from what I am showing here).
Drag the above folder to any location on your hard-drive.
      cd /to/the/location_of_the_folder/0xDBE-142-2927.6/bin
      bash 0xdbe.sh
Respond appropriately to the setup prompts.

Why should I download the OS X version with a custom Java JRE? Are there issues if I run the latest version with a standard Java 8 u51?

    1. Anonymous

Same question here. I'm not sure which one to download.

      1. Please find my comment below.

    2. Because JDK 8 has a number of font rendering, focus, and performance issues, we recommend either to use Java 6 (you have to install it manually), or our patched JDK 8 version where we've fixed some of these issues.

      1. Anonymous

this custom JDK8 overwrite my existing JDK8?

or can i have it side by side?

        $ java -version
        java version "1.8.0-ea"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0-ea-b119)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.0-b61, mixed mode)

        1. The bundled JRE overrides the existing one. But if you call the Switch IDE boot SDK action, you'll be able to switch to your existing one.

Can you customize paramter syntax in 0xDBE like you can in intellij.  In intellij I can define a custom syntax under Settings -> Tools -> Database.  The same setting is not available here.  Is it somewhere else?

    1. We'll put that feature back in the next EAPs.

      1. Anonymous

        Thanks Greg. One more note.

In the EAP Build of Intellij released today that feature is somewhat broken.  If I try to run a query with a custom syntax, it prompts me for the parameter value. I enter it and and get an IndexOutOfBoundsException. Removing the parameter, or using a default parameter (e.g. ?) works fine.

        Parameter Syntax Definition
        Example Query
        Parameter Stacktrace

        1. Fixed. See the EAP build next week.

PS I'm chopping how to reproduce the problem in your message for the sake of screen space for others. It is added to our test suite as well. Thanks.  ..oops in fact I can't (smile)

Please bring back the "Execute Selected" right click option. Cannot execute UNLOAD command on redshift any longer. Moving to another tool to do my job. Pity, as I liked this.

    1. The Run action respects selection, you should be able to select any statement and call "Run".

  17. Anonymous

Windows Defender in windows 10 is blocking 0xdbe-142.4250.1.exe install.

Trying to copy row data with script extractor CSV-Groovy.csv.groovy. Got error:

No script engine found for file extension 'groovy': Please, make sure your script engine jar(s) and language runtime are in the IDE classpath.

    HTML-JavaScript.html.js and JSON-Clojure.json.clj - works.

    1. We'll bundle groovy-all.jar in the next EAP.

Workaround: download & put groovy-all.jar to "lib" folder manually.

Hello, where can I raise issues I am experiencing with the latest release? Its a shame, the last version seems to have regressed for me. Queries have to be submitted twice before they are accepts, tables are in read only mode with out an obvious way to permit editing...

  20. Anonymous

Autocomplete is working only on the first query(after starting of 0xDBE). After executing it, for the next ones you need to type "dbname.schema." for the table names to pop up. This happened since the new update yesterday.

  21. Anonymous

since the builds are served over http, can you maybe provide checksums (md5, sha1, sha256) for the downloads?

    1. Sure, I've just added links to sha256.

  22. sha256 links are still for 143.732.5 packages.

    Please correct it.

  23. The Mac Installer link is still for 1301, even though it is labelled for 1041.

    1. Thank you, Norris! Fixed.

  24. I get the same problem with PHPStorm 10.  No script engine found for file extension 'clj': Please, make sure your script engine jar(s) and language runtime are in the IDE classpath, when I try to export JSON. How do I fix this?

After updating to the latest version (0xDBE 1.0 EAP build 143.1301.4) I get an error on launch telling me it is expired. I am only given two options: Download the latest version (which I already did) or Shutdown. What can I do?

    1. Anonymous

You should use the DataGrip which is the latest release of 0xDBE

      1. Anonymous

But it is not for free.

  26. Anonymous

  27. Anonymous

Currently, DataGrip installation process doesn't copy the connections and consoles from previous 0xDBE installation.

In order to use previous connections and consoles you can use this commend (works for osx):

    cp ~/Library/Preferences/0xDBE10/projects/default/.idea/dataSources* ~/Library/Preferences/DataGrip10/projects/default/.idea/.

    cp ~/Library/Preferences/0xDBE10/jdbc-drivers/* ~/Library/Preferences/DataGrip10/jdbc-drivers/.

    cp ~/Library/Preferences/0xDBE10/consoles/db/* ~/Library/Preferences/DataGrip10/consoles/db/.

    1. Anonymous

With the Windows installer for DataGrip, there is a step which asks if you want to import config from a specific directory. You can browse to C:\Users\<user>\.0xDBE10\config and it will copy all of your settings across.

  28. Anonymous

I got the same problem, only shutdown or downlaod, but the current version is already running. When will there be an update?

    1. 0xDBE EAP program has ended, please download latest DataGrip version from https://www.jetbrains.com/datagrip/download .

  29. Anonymous

Is there any way to export the settings from 0xDBE although it's ended?
