Migrating from YouTrack Standalone to YouTrack InCloud

When you decide to move from YouTrack Standalone server to YouTrack InCloud and migrate your data to your hosted server, in general there are two use cases:

* You want to move your whole current data from standalone server to your YouTrack InCloud instance, that is: _Replace_ current database of YouTrack InCloud with database from your YouTrack standalone server.

If you don't have a registered instance of YouTrack InCloud, then before moving the data you have to register YouTrack InCloud via [our official site|http://www.jetbrains.com/youtrack/index.html].

# Create a backup of your standalone database:

## Open *Administration > Database Backup* page.
## Click '*Backup database now*' link.
## Download the created backup file. Filename format is: {{<date and time of update>.tar.gz}}

h1. Adding Data from YouTrack Standalone to YouTrack InCloud

In case of migrating data from your standalone server, while preserving existing data on your YouTrack InCloud instance, you should use [YouTrack REST API|YTD3:YouTrack REST API Reference] to import data from one YouTrack server to another.
