YouTrack allows you not only enable watching issues you are interested in for yourself, but also allows you to set another user as a watcher for an issue, thus keeping this user notified of changes made to this issue.
In order to view and add watchers list you need to have particular permissions.
If the list of watchers is not displayed in the issue's full screen mode and/or are not allowed to use the Star command, please contact your administrator to add the 'View watcher' and/or 'Update watchers' permissions for your account.
To enable watching for an issue for yourself:
- Select an issue you want to watch and receive notifications about and either click Star on behalf... link (in issue's full screen mode) or invoke the Command window.
- In the Command Window use star me command.
To set another user as a watcher for an issue:
- Open the issue in the full screen mode, and in the Watchers pane of the left sidebar click Star on behalf of... link. The command window will be opened with the Star command. Now all you have to do is specify name of a user you want to add to watchers of the issue. For example:
- In the Issues list highlight one or more issues, for which you want to add watcher. Then invoke the command window and type the Star command for each user you want to be added as watcher for selected issue(s).
