Since the first EAP of YouTrack Energy, we provide support for OpenSearch format, which allows you searching in YouTrack right from the browser's address field.

YouTrack OpenSearch in Google Chrome
- Navigate to your YouTrack server. This time your browser will detect OpenSearch format support.
- The next time you type URL of your YouTrack server you will see the note Press "Tab" to search YouTrack at the right end of the address field:

Known Issue
In Google Chrome for URLs with the port number explicitly specified ('my-youtrack:8080') using OpenSearch won't be suggested automatically. The workaround for the problem is typing just the server name ('my-youtrack'), skipping the port number, then the "Press Tab' suggestion will appear. - Press the Tab key, and type your search request:

- When you press Enter, you will be navigated to your search request results page:

- Navigate to your YouTrack server. This time your browser will detect OpenSearch format support.
- Click the down arrow in the search field of the browser to open the Search Provider menu.
- Select Add YouTrack item:

- When added, select YouTrack as a search engine and type your search request in the search field:

On pressing Enter the browser will open search results page on your YouTrack server.
YouTrack OpenSearch in Internet Explorer
Currently, we support Internet Explorer 7 and 8. You will not be able to add YouTrack as a search provider in Internet Explorer 9.
- Navigate to your YouTrack server. This time your browser will detect OpenSearch format support.
- Click the down arrow in the search field of the browser to open the Search Provider menu.
- Select Add Search Providers > YouTrack menu item:

- When added, select YouTrack as a search engine and type your search request in the search field:

On pressing Enter the browser will open search results page on your YouTrack server.
